The Music of Today for the People of Tomorrow

Descriptive: A girl with curly blond hair steps onto a stage. The crowd’s screams are deafening. Girls shake posters and show off their decorated shirts. The girl starts to sing a loud song, and the voices of thousands of girls echo around the room. The girl sits on a stool and strums softly. Thousands of hands wave back and forth. The girl stands to thank her crowd. The girl is Taylor Swift.

Narrative: At the young age of 12, Taylor Swift could play guitar and write music. Realizing their daughter was serious about pursuing music, they moved the family from Pennsylvania out to Nashville, Tennessee when Taylor was 14. There, she preformed at The Bluebird Cafe and caught the attention of Scott Borchetta, who immediately signed her to his new label, Big Machine Records.

Compare/Contrast: Taylor Swift was a shy, bullied, gangly girl with frizzy hair who poured out her emotions into music. Now, she’s a world wide superstar performing for millions.

Startling Statement
Although the KPOP industry is filled with faces of talent and smiles, it may not always be that way. SM entertainment has caused several reasons for many to believe that the life of idols under the label are filled with hardships and mistreatment.

Compare/Contrast
Many KPOP idol groups have acknowledged their entertainment company, grateful for their opportunity. However, there have recently been new acknowledgments made by these idol groups of their respective companies. Recently idol groups have been suing their respective companies.

Rhetorical Question
These days all the idol groups have been happy and content showing off bright smiles. However, many have looked tired and worn out. Could it be that they are being over worked? Or are they hiding more? What are their respective companies doing about this?
These are my opinion leads! Please let me know which you prefer. I personally am attached to the second lead.

Narrative/Anectode - After hours of work, Veena R. was ready to kick back and purchase some music for exercising. She quickly opened the iTunes store and found her favorite Dream Theater album. Excited for some Petrucci while jogging, she then plugged in her phone and attempted to download the new songs. iTunes did not recognize the files as valid and refused to transfer the files.

Compare/Contrast & Twist - In the late 1990s, the CD was the ubiquitous format for music distribution. Music was owned by those who bought it, as they were free to play it on any device they chose and could redistribute the music to their friends, as well as make backups. Twenty years down the road, digital downloads from stores such as iTunes and Napster reign supreme.

And we no longer own the music.

Rhetorical Question - Do you own the music you have purchased? Because of digital rights management, we are limited in where and how often you can play the music you have bought.

Contrast and Compare/Rhetorical question

Just about 14 years ago to be a popular ‘pop’ singer in music, you had to have a good voice.
It seems as if today that having a good voice doesn’t matter too much, what matters is how ‘hot’ you are seen by the public. Voice doesn’t matter because there is autotuning. Autotuning is a system that perfects artists voice. It makes the singers infallible. But is this really fair?

Descriptive

Now a days many artists use autotuning to change their voice in music. Kanye West, Ke$ha, T-Pain, and many more popular artists have been using this devince. It makes their voices perfect, no errors ever. Although there is a controversy among fans and other artists, changing the voice artificially vs. using natural voice.

Startling Statement
Your favorite artists are cheating!
